Capitalism (1948)

Another winner from Coronet Instructional Films! In this one, a group of teenagers on a high-school radio program discuss just what capitalism is, seizing onto the example of the butcher who supplies the weenies for their picnic. A bona fide capitalism love-in! Weenie references fly fast and furious here.
Capitalism is one of many "free-enterprise education" films released in the first few years of the Cold War. Unlike many films produced under corporate sponsorship, it avoids taking jabs at socialism, Russia or New Deal government programs. Nonetheless, it uses the common Coronet device of showing a group collectively engaged in coming to terms with an idea -- a process with predetermined conclusions. In this respect, I imagine that it's not so different from Soviet educational films.

Faces and places change over time but it's really always the same game and it ain't never gonna change. The only hope for a sane existence is to be born at a cycle of relative lull in the repeating cycles.

It don't matter what the name of the system is, capitalism, socialism, commyism, freedomism, nadirism, utopianism, democratism, fascistism, eventually ordinary people are as the system "progresses" gonna get screwed. It only a matter of how fast as a function of time the psychopaths wrangle a stranglehold on ANY given system.

Perhaps it's because the gov't has their hand in something where it shouldn't be. If you need something that I have, you buy it from me, and yes I receive money for it. What would be the problem w/ that? The problem is over-regulation by gov't and ppl upset b/c another person's making money. Now, there r indeed ppl who abuse this system; I think the blame should be placed on those ppl and not the system.

For those who believe that capitalism solves everything, then let's remove the free (not paid) school, trade unions and other social rights. Or maybe go back to slavery? This is real life, with all its charms. Each person has a real opportunity to become a slave owner, however it is very difficult, but possible! As an analogue of the American dream.

In Capitalism money importantly, then people. In the 21st century, it is unacceptable. Yet, in the 20th century, the world is split into two parts because of this. Must guaranteed free (not paid) university education and medicine, and free (not paid) public transport must to be a long time ago. About other social rights I do not say anything yet. But these, I think, were must to become around the world in the 20 century. Capitalism must mutate, or capitalism will collapse.

No one hates your so called "freedom " they do hate your ignorant stupidity, You can grow up and join civilisation or you can stay in your dumb peasant fantasy play pen.
